At first I didn't want to purchase this strain from CannTrust, mainly because of the price. I only had the reviews from this site to influence my decision. When I called my first order, and found out that the price was only $8.00 I was excited. The whole process took about 5 min's and my product was at my house 2 days later. Royal Purple Kush was everything I excepted from a AAA strain. Perfect for every evening to help relax, helps get a solid night sleep. I have a 9 month old at home and getting up multiple times at night and falling back to sleep has not been better since I have been on Royal Purple Kush. I'm currently burning it but plan on moving to Vap. soon. Flavour was smooth and crisp. The medical effects are great the way a good Indica strain should give you. CannTrust was a great company to deal with, I called one time to get some information but ran out of time. I didn't get a chance to complete my order. The following day I received a follow up call and placed my order in 5 min's. Some people would've not enjoyed the follow up call but myself personally really appreciates them. I guess you could say it adds the personal touch. I like the fact if your order is $90 or more shipping is free and the only down side to CannTrust is after my first purchase I no longer get 30% off. I really hope the company offers discount days/events etc. Highly recommend Royal Purple Kush for any evening sessions endless positive effects and if the price stays consistent order in huge quantities CannTrust gives you 2-way humidity control packages with every order, they work great!

Starting with the lavender purple accents on the buds container, this strain gives off a calming sense right out the gate. The buds I received were all small-average sized, trimmed very well. Not very crystallized. Kind of on the dry side, but the provided boveda pack seems to be doing the trick. I find it rolls pretty well, and is great in bong or pipe. Also, great for vaping. Smokes well, is easy on the throat and lungs. Effects start making themselves known after the first few minutes, full effect by 15-20 minutes. Provides a very nice head buzz, coupling with a overall body calmness and relaxation. I would say this strain is more suited for evening use. I started off with 5g and then stocked up 30g on the next order. Plan to keep this one is stock for evening use myself. Bought my larger order at the current sale price of $8.00 per gram.

Do not get me wrong once I was able to wrap my head around the genetics the taste and high were quite agreeable but, I was flustered as I, Like many others, have had Purple Kush, I know what it tastes like, the look the smell, So at first glance I smelled fowl play, but as I researched i discovered that "Royal Purple Kush" is actually an Afghani Pheno, and probably would be more accurately named Black Afghani Kush, But with all that being said the sweet sandal wood, with peppery overtones and light hint of pine does hit the spot very affectively leaving you Alert but very comfortable and eventually Sleep, Vaping huge clouds. The resin production was also quite good, beautiful Gold colour and more earthy as a concentrate, You will need lots of water for this is large doses will dry out both your mouth and your eyes. The batch I received was 18.7% thc, Light decent sized buds, frosted all over, Very kushy looking not so Kush tasting or affect though, Generally the affect felt a Kush for me at least is like laying your head on the most comfy pillow ever, and with Royal Purple Kush it's more of a narcotic affect,

Have ordered this strain 3 times now. It's always been an amazing batch each time I've ordered. Extremely covered in trichomes, has a strong skunky kush aroma to it with some hints of purple colours. Tastes amazing and gives a great buzz and stress relief.

I ordered this, along with 5 other strains as part of my first order with Canntrust. The registration took a week after they received my medical document, which was considerably longer than my other LP, Canna Farms. The ordering process was a little ridiculous. I tried to order online but they require by phone for the first order. They have to manually calculate taxes on orders so after you place an order, you have to wait for them to review it and determine final cost. Then I was pretty disappointed with the shipping time. Yes, they offer free shipping. Is it worth it? No. My package arrived 8 days after placing it. My other LP may charge for shipping but it arrives the next day. As for this particular product, it was really disappointing. It had a strange yellow colour, no purpling, despite the name. It had nearly no smell at all which tells me it lacks terpenes. The buds were small and far too dry. They crumbled under a gentle touch. There was pretty much no taste and it wasn't very strong. After smoking a bowl I find myself questioning whether or not I had just smoked a whole bowl because I did not feel very high at all. I smoke to help with sleep and anxiety due to OCD and this left me mildly tired, but that's about it. Hardly what you would expect from 19% THC. I would not order it again.

So, I'm not a fan of CannTrust, but this strain is pretty amazing in terms of potency. First off, it's a very pale, yellowy green. There are a couple of massive buds, and a few popcorn sized ones. It's dry as dust. A boveda pack has helped with the moisture but there's only so much a humidity pack can do. My first impression was that this was some crappy ditch weed garbage, on top of that, I don't think they sent me a full 5 grams, compared to some of the other 5 gram orders I've had from them. When I called to complain, I waited an hour on hold on a Monday night when they shouldn't be that busy, and then they told me that different plants have different densities and that their measuring calibrations are exact. So even though it looked like I hadn't received a full 5 grams, too bad for me, since I don't have a micro scale to measure weed weight with. This bud is not dense. It's not sticky, it's not thick. It's lighted dry and smell like my mother's pantry when I was a kid and we had bugs in the walls (mothballs). So, yeah, gross to smell and taste. Now, the good: a very small amount vaped , like .05 grams, puts me right out. Heavy duty head high, couch lock, great indica for bedtime. I sleep really well. I'd definitely order this again.

Not a bad strain.smooth smoke but the price is a little high.

This strain does show purple in its leaves the potency is 20% and this is an idica. due to it being only 20% thc i feel comfortable taking this strain to releive symptoms that limit me no matter the time. I have access to another producer that has a standardized saiva that suits my fatigue needs well, but there is no doubt that wel all can benefit from a nap or a few days of just resting the old bones. This is my second 5 gram container from canntrust and based on my experience with their strongest available strains i cannot truly say this is the perfect medecine for my needs. I aim to keep my depression and spasms invisible and not affecting me in any way. I have chronic conditions that indicate the importance for a diverse medical products selection. This strain was purchased with hopes of releiving strewss and depression in the eveing but i found it to be not potent enough for a dose under 1 gram whereas in my past expererience less than a gram of potent indica should induce some sleepyness and sedation several hours after consuming it. I will not be buyin gthis again.,

I am so sad Canntrust has stopped carrying this strain at an affordable price. It smelled just like a purple kush should which is weird because most of Canntrust's weed smells and tastes like crap. Effects are nice but still nowhere near AAA. I'd give it an AA. The taste even when smokes has the "purple" taste. Again this stuff is a pleasure to medicate with. Doesn't have the potency craft growers have. You need more volume then generally thats for sure. Just another reason why patients should use vaporizers. We dont need excess carbon in our lungs. And weak potency means we have to use more...but obviously thats good for LP business. So sad they jacked the price up on this stuff :(
